I Was Asked Out!

On my way to market Thursday I was asked--"Hey, Katie you want to go out for dinner? I'll buy.". It kind of caught me by surprise but then I'm sure the first time a girl is asked out for dinner by a young man it would surprise her.

And yes, with my parent's permission I took the young man up on his offer.....

But then when ever my brother offers to take me out for dinner and is buying I think I'll always take him up. lol

Meet My Family--Timothy

Meet Timothy, just in case you missed it he's the first boy in the family. Mom had six girls before he was born and to be totally honest I thought that is that there would be for siblings--Sisters!! (And no I'm not complaining!!)

I was a grand age of 11 years old when we were blessed with him. Up to that point I was really the only child who cared about baseball and was oh so happy to have someone with the potential to pass on the love of baseball to. And I have, he's in his third year of little league & loving it, he collects baseball cards right along side me (when I let him) and he's started keeping track or players in the majors. It's tons of fun watching him growing up loving baseball.

He also like Emma is a great mimic, not as good as Emma but good enough to be Scary! lol Also he's the "class clown". Not like we have a proper class room, but I know if he was in a class room he would be the class clown. Though I do I think I've heard stories about him in Sunday School & as one of his former teachers I can vouch that at the wonderful age of three he was a nut.

Living on ten acres without a lawn mower can be a little difficult. At least it was until Timothy decided that he enjoyed mowing the lawn and begs to do it (that is when he's not playing baseball). I do enjoy having him do as I get the smell of fresh cut grass without having to do the work!

Timothy loves being outside whenever and however long he can be. But he also enjoys learning, and like the rest of us history is his favorite subject, right along with math.

Timothy is a wonderful big brother, he loves taking care of and playing with his brothers and does a very good job of protecting Liberty. Now being a younger brother he does have his days of being annoying. (Don't' they all?) But he's still lovable and great to have around!

Sports News, What Fun!!

I wait for years for this, no matter where it is, no matter what the date I'm there parked in front of the TV to watch the Nations file in announced in three different languages, while the whole world watches to see who is the best at each sport.

Yes, I am talking about the Winter Olympics, though I do enjoy watching the summer games as well there's just something about the winter games that draws me more than the summer games. I've looked forward to every four years to watch the games since 1998 and the Nagano Olympics.

No, please don't ask me which is my favorite sport I go back and forth between spots. Ask me now and I might say speed skating, ask me in thirty minutes and I will tell you Luge. But then I can't forget Skeleton, Curling, Bobsled, Skiing or Hockey.

On another sports topic, the Astros' pitchers and catchers reported to Florida today to mark the start of Spring Training and we found out in the last two days that Timothy and Noah will both be playing for the Astors in the Waller little league. Noah for T-ball 5 (which dad said he would never do, until he saw Noah the last couple years) and Timothy for the Minors. What fun!! :D

I sometimes Wonder

About my siblings and the things they can come up with. :D

One of those things is the insults that they come up with. Rather the things that they come up with, in which they hope to insult us with.  :D  (Mainly Emma and Timothy towards Chris, Grace, and myself).  More often than not these "insults" tend to get more laughter then anger from the people they are trying to insult.  This only results in a stomped foot and a “Don’t laugh at me!!"

But it is really hard not to laugh at them when they yell...

"You are an Eco-terrorist!!"

Timothy

I'm sitting in my room reading and I hear Timothy say--"My pet monkey has a brain tumor!". Righty oh, I didn't know you had a pet monkey, but O.K.. lol

A few minutes later as I am walking down the hallway to check something, Timothy holds out his finger to me and says in a ''saddened'' voice--"My pet fly just died". All righty then, I wonder if we need to check his sanity level. lol
